Embed a Rotating Pinterest Pinboard Widget On Your Website

Pinterest provides a widget builder but it only provides a single pinboard. The code I provide here will allow you to rotate randomly on each page load between as many pinboards as you would like to include.

More IE Woes

Have there ever been any posts about how horrible IE is to developers?

So get this... IE javascript code will fail if calling console.log without having a console initialized as IE does not automatically provide console. When you turn on debugger then console is defined and works. Without debugger then code fails. Vicious catch 22 situation as you need the debugger to see problems but with debugger turned on the problem goes away. #Funtimes!

Side by Side Comparison of Print Newspapers With Websites

In a previous post, I have compared print version of the Brainerd Dispatch and the website version of brainerddispatch.com. Here are comparisons of different newspapers with their online counterparts.

Of course, this is not fair because it is a "static" screenshot of the website so you do not get the pleasure of the flashing ads, expanding ads and popup ads as you would with the real website experience.

Popup Ads Still In Use

Ask just about any web user and they will tell you they despise popup ads. Web users hate them so much that browsers build the functionality to block them directly into the browsers. Yet, advertisers still pay a bit of money to websites to unleash them onto their audience who may not have an enabled blocker. Cost to the advertiser is rather minimal. Cost the to that portion of the websites' audience I'd have to think is severe.

OnlineAthens.com Front Page - 8414px long (~11 pages)

Of the 1,240 x 8,400+ pixels, what is important for the web user on the onlineathens.com home page?

1024x768 is still the predominant screen resolution for onlineathens.com audience so 8414px is roughly equivalent to 11 pages.  Resolution data acquired from Google Analytics.
